As a preparatory measure the sewer is cleaned and visual inspection of the sewerage
system is carried out. During this reconnaissance procedure the exact positions of the
pipe sleeves and the lateral inflows are noted, enabling the optimum position for the
mounting rings (clamps) in the sewage pipe to be determined and recorded.
The computer-controlled robot moves to the predefined positions and installs the clamps.
During the next stage of the installation procedure a maximum of 9 protective tubes
are fixed in the clamps in a single operation and, finally, the fibre optic cables
can be drawn into these tubes.
